Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities & Maintenance Officer with proven experience in shopping/retail centre management. The successful candidate will oversee the upkeep, safety, and operational efficiency of our market facilities, ensuring that all systems and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day facilities operations, including building maintenance and cleaning as part of the maintenance team.
- Oversee contractors, service providers and cleaning staff, ensuring compliance with service agreements and quality standards.
- Implement preventative maintenance schedules for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other critical systems.
- Monthly scheduling of cleaning staff to ensure that the facility is clean and compliant with hygiene standards
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation.
- Report weekly on planned maintenance and schedule repairs and maintenance in a manner that does not interrupt operations.
- Ensure all plant and machinery are in working order.
- Minimise and prioritise emergency breakdowns of machinery and equipment.
- Drive continuous improvement in facilities management to enhance customer and tenant satisfaction.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Shopping Centre Manager or in a similar facilities management role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for dealing with staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Strong reporting and administrative skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems.
